Car insurance in the UK

If you are British, have a Spanish driving licence can you be added onto a family members car insurance in the UK? My father was on my uncles car insurance as a named driver. A friend of ours has been told that cannot be done? Is it possible to be added, if so do you know of what insurance company. Many thanks.

It can be done but Insurance companies make their own conditions so it is a case of ringing a good broker in UK and I mean a BROKER not an INSURANCE AGENT

It's not her talking out of her posterior it was the insurance company who her son's insured with who said not possible. Can you remember the name of the company you used?

Only possible if you are a resident in uk if you have spanish residencia then no one will insure you I have tried everything to get insured as a named driver and failed you can get 2 week cover third party for about 150£
