You should ask your internet provider if they are throttling your speed if they are that will be the problem

My suggestion would be to try to watch the same content from the same provider on a tablet or PC and see if it does the same. If it does then the broadband connection is suspect. Another suggestion is to set your router to use a different wifi channel in case the same one is being overused by you or your neighbours. Normally routers are set to auto so you would need to have the admin password for the router to change it. If you have 5 GHz wifi then always use that because the throughput is greater and faster.

It is unlikely to be a fault on the firestick itself.
Good luck.

We supply UK Firesticks here in Spain and have had numerous problems with freezing and buffering with some customers.
The problem has been caused by one particular ISP round here throttling the connection as mentioned by another poster.
As soon as we tied in all users were with the same ISP, it was sorted.

Your speed test is really irrelevant apart from checking that you are actually getting what speed you pay for plus the ISP can fake it as they are aware that you are doing it.. Other readings need to be considered for freezing and buffering.
You can stream SD on 4 megs or below
Also the supplier of your content needs also to be considered as TV or Films from free sources where servers are loaded to the hilt will also give you problems.
The Firestick is good value and a great streaming device which 90% of our customers use for UK TV.
It's possible whatever device you use for streaming will give you the same problem

Number one rule be certain the internet is performing properly. In most cases in Spain it's an ISP problem, secondly streaming from overloaded servers, also router and device caches not cleaned.also cause problems.

Who was the troublesome ISP and what was done to resolve the problem?

The ISP sent an engineer out who changed the router to a 5G router.
Guess their 5G Network has very little use as not many customers are connected to it. Hence no more throttling.
