I thought you had to report burglaries etc to the Guardia Civil in Almoradi , not the Policia Local? I had to go to Almoradi to make the denunciation for a shed break in. Is this not always the case?

As this topic has been raised I am particularly interested in peoples views as to a neighbourhood watch type alert of burglaries or other suspicious activity as works well in the UK and as an owner living in UK any opportunity to be better informed and review security would be welcomed.

Having taken the keys to my new villa in Benijofar I was greeted by a cold caller wanting me to take out their security contract and used lots of fear tactics to bolster the debate. What was slightly funny and annoying was he had jumped the electric gates to get inside to tout his business to the new villa owners

Welcome views and may have already been tried and failed

Thankyou very much . We have to go to Guardamar to report it and have been asked to go back at 5.30 with a translator. So sitting in a bar with phone and google translate!! Hope it’s acceptable.

There is a good app for mobile phones called Alert Cops https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .app&hl=en is is provided fro the Spanish police get it from Google Play

AlertCops is the citizen security alert service that the Spanish Law Enforcement Authorities (Policia and Guardía Civil) provide to assist you in risk situations.

AlertCops is a complementary channel. You can send alerts with images or videos to the nearest emergency center, chat directly with a support agent or receive security news and notifications sent by public security services. So, you will receive faster and more efficient attention.

You can also share your position with those people you want or with the public security center that provide this service.

AlertCops: Immediate – Collaborative – Close - Direct – Accurate – Preventive - Discreet – Effective

They will probably send you away like they did with us as they insist on a translator to ensure that the forms/reports are correctly written.
