Driving from France to Quesada

Driving from France to Quesada

Postby ianandsandra » Sat Jan 25, 2020 9:55 pm

We are trying to find the cheapest way to bring our dogs out to Spain for 4 months over next winter. One option would be to take the channel tunnel and drive down. Does anyone have advice on finding dog friendly hotels somewhere en-route so that we can recharge our batteries. Alternatively any ideas on other ways to get our fur babies to Spain.

Have done the drive twice now with our little monsters
There are plenty of dog friendly hotels. Just decide on your route, we do it toll free, decide where u want to stop then google pet friendly hotels in that area. All the ibex hotels are pet friendly but not the cheapest. The hotel we are staying in on our last stop wen we drive back next month is 27euro for room for the night.

Thank you for that. How long does the drive take you.

We normally do it over 2 stopovers
Say 8 to 9 hrs drive 1st and 2nd day
Leaving around 5 hrs on last day
This time coming we doing an extra day to stay with a friend in france
Think most folk would recommend taking at least 3 nights but it is doable over 2 easily
But with google maps is so easy to plan it to suit

As a baseline without beasts and with two or more drivers the entire journey can be accomplished in around 18 hours, what you personally want or need to add to that is of course up to you.

We did it over 2 night stops. First night in La Manns and second night just outside Zaragoza.

Booked prior online that had confirmation that they accepted pets

:text-goodpost: jpeg. We also always did 4/5 months but from now it will have to be the 90 days in any 180! Shame as a lot of revenue will be lost, as we don’t want to come when it’s hot, so going to take a lot more planning!

Look at going by ferry from Portsmouth to Santander. 1 day on a dog friendly boat and then 9 hours to Quesada and no toll roads.

We did Portsmouth to Bilbao, they have dog facilities on board, car is secure in the hold, there are kennels and an exercise area, both driving legs were stress free with minimal tolls, less than 10 euros
