Has anyone saved by switching electricity supplier?

Has anyone saved by switching electricity supplier?

Postby David Stokes » Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:22 pm

My electricity bills have gone through the roof. I have looked at Iberswitch, which sounds good, but checking them out on here, and other forums, there is a whole load of people saying don't use them.

Can anybody tell me how they have successfully switched and saved a meaningful amount please.

Change your tariff with Iberdrola. Already loads of threads but you'll find that, whichever company you pay for your electricity, you'll still pay the standing charges at the Iberdrola or Endesa rate because they are the only ones in this area who actually provide the power.

There's a thread going on here about 8 hours or day/night tariff. We switched to day/night almost 3 years ago and our bills have been reduced by over a third.

I'm on the day and night tariff with Iberdola with average bills of 70€/month. I did a comparison and Fortaluz would reduce my bills by around a mere 35€ a year. Problem is the taxes and equipment rental charges make up over 50% of the bill no matter which company you are with. Best bet is to look at how and when you use the electricity you use although if you are a heavy electric user you could definitely benefit financially by switching companies. Fortaluz have been around a long time and have English speaking customer service.

We’ve just switched from Iberdrola to Aldro, we used a guy called Antonio - www.ahorro-energetico.com .... give him a ring he doesn’t charge as he gets paid by the energy companies tel: 675630161.

Try Nordic Energy. English speaking and they buy the cheapest electricity daily.

I've just switched
I first of all used the following comparison site
https://comparadorofertasenergia.cnmc.e ... m?js=1&e=N

It is in Spanish but easy enough to navigate your way to find the best deal.
I then used a company called Si compare who confirmed I'd found the best deal and organised the switch
I gt a 12 months fixed deal saving on what I was paying and as it was Pre price increase the saving will be even better shortly
