IBERDROLA

Postby kjellv » Mon Feb 10, 2020 9:32 am

Hi

I have made a contract with Iberdrola with different tariff day/night, but I am not able to clearly see what is night and what is day and what is defined as Winter and Summer.

Can you please explain me this

Thanks

Cheap hours in Winter are 10pm to 12 noon and in Summer 11pm to 1pm.
The seasons are from the when the clocks go forward or backward.
This year the Summer period will be between March 29th when the clocks go forward and October 25th when the clocks go back.

If Spain adopts the EU suggestion that clocks no longer go forward and backward then there will be one period for the whole year.

There are 2 Night and day Tariffs.
Iberdrola advertise a fixed rate one at around 10 cents off peak and 19 cents peak. This guarantees you those rates for the duration of the contract.

However we pay 5 cents off peak and 12.5 cents peak rate on the same tariff.
You wont see this advertised as the rates are variable and they don't tell you about it.
Cost is dependant on hourly production costs of electricity, which is published 24 hours in advance on the internet.

This rate is the blue line on the graph.

The meter records and charges for hourly consumption.

These have been current prices for the past couple of years.

To get this tariff you have to ask for

Biling by actual hourly consumption.
VPSC with time of day rates in 2 periods.
You must have a smart meter for this tariff.

Further information can be found here.
