Just for fun (nothing to do with Quesada)

Hi All...I remember "Tiger nuts" and Licorice wood...To this day I still do not know what they actually were all I remember is that Tiger nuts secreted a milky sort of juice and Licorice wood I used to chew until it went all soft then it was thrown away. Walking home from School at lunchtime many years ago ...1960 ish
I was outside Rochester Row Police station (Pimlico) and I found a sixpenny piece...I was so worried about the find ..outside a police station etc that I went into the next sweet shop along the road and asked the proprietor "How much are those penny ice lollys" To this day I will always remember the way he said "Why a penny of course son"...Five pence change ...I was loaded.

Liquorice sticks were lovely.

Lucky tatties and liquorice laces! And our local shop did penny cola ice lollies! Those were the days!!

You can still buy that on Torrevieja market. When, of course, we have another market day.

most petrol stations sell them and black liquorice sticks

I remember my grandma and grandad always having a box of Weekend in the 70s. I loved space dust and sweet necklaces.

What about Spanish tobacco think it was coconut shreds used to love that and the pretend fags that had a little red tip made of shiny paper with a few sprinkles of white stuff so it looked alight with ash. I felt so grown up with one of them hanging out my mouth

Olde fashioned humbugs they were mustard coloured, cinder toffee and don't forget flying saucers!!
