I heard today that if you are over 60 we can take our SIP cards to a chemist and get a free Face Mask. Is that happening??

According to things i have heard from medical chiefs doctors etc, Unless on the front line fighting the virus you do not need a mask as they do nothing.

We have heard this over and over again, if they are giving them out free they must think they help a little. As they say, every little helps.

Problem is the govt have said use them once only then discard
So, they may be of some use but not for long
Can’t understand why supermarkets are selling them by the box
They’re not of the required medical standard so it shouldn’t be difficult for the vast reaches of supermarket supply chains
Surely they’re not blind to the demand , the potential sales ?

I had to go to the farmacia today and when I got back home a car came down the street and stopped . It was the Mayor of Los Montesinos and he wound his window down and gave me 2 masks, free.
What a great gesture

I went out today for our weekly shop. My fifth short trip out in five weeks, in line with the imposed restrictions. I am pleased to say that I saw only one person without a mask.
The way forward for all of us is to wear a mask while we're out and for the government to test as many people as many times as is possible.
The tide is turning in opinion regarding the effectiveness of masks and I am sure that ultimately the wearing of a mask in public will become compulsory.
Time will tell.
