Human boxes

Human boxes

Postby Jonnno » Fri Jun 19, 2020 4:34 pm

Hi
I have had a Humax Freesat box for over 10 years and generally good. Probably don't use it as extensively as possible. Anybody upgraded one recently and are they any better?

No doubt will get some understandable replies. Should read Humax boxes not Human!

We have a Humax box, but since the onset of internet tv this is what’s used and preferred in our Casa most of the time.
Check it out at SmarTech 966714099
Next to the Citroen garage on the road to Benijofar.

I may be wrong, but I think you will find that Humax no longer make boxes for Freesat.

Thanks for information. If can't get Freesat on Humax anymore not much point in getting one.

I bought one 2 years ago and it works fine. Smaller than the older ones but similar functionality

Here are the Humax Freesat boxes but it looks like they might have a stock problem....

There are still Humax boxes to be had but they stopped making new Freesat boxes last year.
Freesat announced their preferred supplier would be the Arris freesat box (made by Pace).
Plus most modern TVs now have a built in satellite and freeview receiver.

It's a shame because although the picture on my built in satellite receiver is superior to the one on my Humax box, Humax has a far better EPG. The built in one is very small with grey writing on a pale blue background in Freesat plus it doesn't give a visual display in the EPG whereas the Humax one is larger, easier to read and gives the visual display.
