Money Transfers (house purchase)

Money Transfers (house purchase)

Postby kev19720 » Fri Jul 03, 2020 4:56 pm

Hi

I shall be buying a house in Lo Crispin soon and I'm now in the process of finding out the best and safest way to get the money into my spanish account. Ive read a few threads on Transferwise but wondered if anybody had some suggestions of who to use? Im currently in discussions with Moneycorp but i really don't know who's the most competitive etc.

Regards
Kev.

I have used Transferwise since it started and I know a lot of my clients use it for House purchase funds they are pretty unbeatable and the fastest transfers you can get I have never seen the rate beaten
Use this link and your first transfer is free https://transferwise.com/u/a122

Hi
We used transferwise today but via bank transfer.
Took is a whole to sort it out but worth it as you same a lot of money.
Basically make a payment using bank transfer and then instruct your UK bank to send money to transferwise using your Transferwise personal ID and then they forward to your Spanish account.
It takes seconds.

Transferwise, you get the exact market rate as it is, and you only pay a minimal amount compared to a bank transfer. Pay transferwise, and they send it on as euros, usually in a matter of seconds.

We used transferwise. The only issues we had was both banks in the UK held up 1 transfer each in the beginning for security checks due to the sums involved until they had contacted us to confirm that we were aware of the transfers and confirmed that we wanted them to go ahead. Also Sabadall contacted us to provide proof that the money was coming from our UK banks as transferwise have varies EU accounts that they can transfer via, the payments which went via their Spanish bank were ok but a couple of transfers went via Belgium and Lithuania. All I had to do was email copies of the transfer request from our UK banks to TransferWise and the receipt from TransferWise to our Sabadall account. As previously said they give the best rate and because it's all done on line you can watch the live exchange rate and pounce on it when you are happy with the rate.
