Save the Cave Jam
Save the Cave Jam

The popular Cave Jam event that ran every Sunday is under threat.
If you enjoyed the music and would like to see it reinstated, here is a petition to sign.

Why is it under threat, from whom, or in what way? The petition rubric does not explain. Is it the Ayuntamiento wanting to close it or something else?

Petition signed.
It would be a great shame to loose it, we normally walk over, every time we have family and friends over.

Seconded, knowing why it's under threat can only help in mounting a defence.

Abraham who runs it has been told it needs to be regulated - paperwork and taxes paid etc.
As he does most of the work unpaid - as do the musicians - he will lose out financially.
I couldn't understand all he pasted up on his social media, but seems there is some sort of disagreement with the council who say they want to encourage the arts.
I'm sure if you visit Abraham he will tell you more!

Never been personally but if it's a free event, which I believe it is, then the answer to it's survival could be right there.

Might be worth checking what details the forms require first, they might be quite innocuous. Officials get quite upset if things happen without the proverbial rubber stamp, particularly on council land. If the musicians play without remuneration then presumably they would not be liable for tax. Worth investigating before abandoning such a popular event.
