Changing from uk to spanish phone provider

Apparently you can only keep the old number if it is a spanish one.
Went to Quesada computers to sign up with Lobster...advised that you cannot keep the uk number .shame as I have had it for 20 years!!

Surely it stands to reason that you can't keep a UK number when switching to a Spanish provider any more than if you tried to keep a Spanish number with a UK provider!

Why dont you. Move your Uk number to pay as you go and keep it in a spare phone so you can keep your old number. And then divert the your calls to the new Spanish phone number. And then your sorted. It’s easy to do.

Also had my lobster sim activated today ,but my daughter phoned on her mobile from the UK and was flagged as paying a charge ...really ? Do Uk mobiles get charged to phone a Lobster number?

I would expect so, she will be making an international call from UK using her UK mobile. AFAIK roaming on a UK mobile only works if the user is out of the UK.
