Moving to Quesada

Hi, a bit of a predicament here, some of you may have been been in the same boat(sorry about the pun).

We are moving over at the beginning of November. Two adults, two small dog, furniture and other belongings.

What is the best way to do this, that won't cost a fortune. We wont have a car, as we will be buying in Spain.

We sent furniture out using swift removals there on Facebook they came highly recommended and I can recommend them myself..
Very professional and good price too.

No we never. But people on here will recommend a few dog/pet carriers..

Hi, we found it easier and offered the least stress by buying a Spanish registered car with an ITV and all documents in the UK before we left. There are several UK companies who specialise on selling LHD cars.
Much better for the animals, especially if you can book ahead and get a pet friendly cabin on your crossing, as they are with you all the way. Plus with a car, before you leave, you can take all those important but you need as soon as you get to Spain. You can easily get the name change done once you get here. Subject to how much you are shifting, Silverdaletransport are one if the best and most reasonable.
You could also drive a UK car over and sell it in Spain once you are settled, again several local car dealers who sell UK and Spanish vehicles. Thank Please send a private message if you need more information.

I've looked at driving my car over, and selling it in Spain. But would loose a few thousand pound selling it over there. Thanks again

I've also found another option, a company called J hire. You hire the van over here, drive yourself and drop it off at there depot, near Quesada. Has anybody on here used them?

We came over with two dogs on the ferry. We hired a van from one way hire company in East midlands. Dropping it off in Murcia. Our dogs were in two small kennels on the ferry but wouldn't do that again. Far too small unless they are tiny/toy dogs.

We had the pet friendly cabin for our dog and that was perfect. We saw the dogs in the kennels on board and they looked and sounded very stressed. Much nicer to have your pooch with you in the cabin. Not a bad drive if you go via Santander or Bilbao. I wouldn’t recommend the channel tunnel and Drive through France and Spain, its far too long.

I flew over, my dog left day before picked up by For the Love if Fogs and cats and stopped off to my hone in Spain 2 day’s later. Perfect set up, no stress. They stopped every few hours for dog toilet break and it’s all about the welfare of the animal with them. Absolutely fantastic guys and thoroughly recommend them.
