Odd telephone calls

Odd telephone calls

Postby Chrisdee » Fri Oct 09, 2020 5:01 pm

Anybody getting calls and when you answer them- nothing? Our friend had 3-4 yesterday as did my parents and today we had one so far. My one it seemed like someone was there so I waited and after a few seconds an automated voice said goodbye. Strange

Yes we get them they are people trying to sell you things, similar to the annoyances in U.K. sometimes it us an automated system other times someone who talks at a great rate of knots say English? And they ring off and sometimes just silence until a person starts the sell or the automation cuts off.

When I get them, I google their number and its usually in a list of cold calling numbers and I block them. But thats on my mobile, so its easy. I guess the article refers to a landline but surely there is a similar action one can take.

Got a call yesterday from an Asian speaking person from Microsoft telling me my computer had a virus so could I open the computer and log on.. He then would tell me what files to delete..

I said.. "Hang on a moment" and put the phone on the back of the couch. He must have listened to half an hour of the news before he hung up..

Yes, we keep getting the Microsoft one from an Indian voice. The answer was after his rumble, ok we will have 1 pilau rice, 1 garlic nan, 1 chicken masala and a chicken korma. Can you give us a call when it is ready? Never had another call since then.
