Lockdown achieves nothing but delay....

Lockdowns and, restrictions of movement, allows a Government, to manage admissions to its hospitals. A free-for-all would swamp a County’s health service, waste its resources and damage the overall economy.

Just the 2 of you!!
Thats not managing the economy. Thousands of businesses and livelihoods already destroyed, and more on the edge. Worst national debt since the war and the economy crippled for many years, because of lockdown. Now that is a fact.
All you look at is Covid and hospitals. Try looking at the wider picture.

Last week, my uncle died in North Manchester General Hospital from Covid. He'd gone in there having had a fall and caught Covid in the hospital.

Yesterday, my mother was admitted to intensive care with a non Covid related issue. They have placed her in a temporary ICU, situated in a now non-functioning operating theatre, because the ICU is full of Covid patients. It's not just about Covid. The volume of patients is overwhelming the health service. That's the wider picture as well. How many deaths are acceptable?

For some, any number of deaths are acceptable, so long as their lifestyle isn’t affected.

Lockdown will not stop people dying.
Its the NHS not the National Covid Service.
People will die from Covid, but others from Cancer, Strokes and others things.
Lockdown does not get rid of the virus.
Nobody said you can't stay at home. If you want to thats fine. But if everyone does this for too long, there will be nothing left to live for.

You remind me of a poster from earlier this year who was convinced everything would be back to normal by June, and everything was hype,he disappeared ??!!!

Seems a lot of people see this as an "I'm alright Jack" scenario.

Usually they are youngish and fit. Have never seen a loved one die.

It seems (and I am sure no one on here would think this ).. that the elderly, the sick and the vulnerable are an acceptable loss to keep the economy going.

A sad sign of the times I think...

We have a ferry booking on 15th Nov. Surely we won’t be prevented from travelling to Santander? Does anyone know exact situation? We always have one stopover too so I can see that could be an additional problem. Appreciate any advice or guidance to an official website. Thanks. Dave

You are allowed to transit through all communities so going to the ferry is not a problem. Most Communities should have their borders open by 15th Nov in any mcase. There might be restrictions for certain towns within communities. You should be ok for hotel stopovers.
