Buying a second hand car

I am in process of buying a second hand car from a garage & just tried to get a quote from an insurance company.
When I entered the number plate this car was not part of the list provided! What does this mean? The car is stolen? Or the seller gave incorrect info about the car?

Buying a second hand car in Spain is fraught with potential issues ... be very careful ... if anything causes you suspicion - walk away (from my own experience ....)

Thank u, that is very qood advice but since I am an Accountant, I am suspicious about any money transactions
