What is the new norm for street markets? will the carry on as at present, or be further reduced in size or just plain scrapped

Been to Rojales market this morning but probably only about 70% stalls open.

They should be restricted to 50% of stalls and capacity.

I love markets but this is crazy people do not social distance in markets they really should be banned just like most shops and not open until restrictions are lifted.

I must say I agree with you. At the very least some safety measures should be put in place.

Despite my general "life must go on" attitude surrounding Covid, the one place I made a hasty retreat from and haven't returned was lemon tree market. Having visited in July there was no one way system, no sign of much sanitiser, no attempt at distancing and generally felt like it was business as usual just with masks being worn. I promptly left.

You cannot go to Bars and Restaurants where they sanitize and social distance but you can go to street markets where you are touching things that a lot of other people have touched and not everyone keeps their social distance..........doesn`t make sense to me

I've just come back from Torrevieja market and they have sanitizer stations on the entrances and exits they also have painted lanes.with arrows. The stalls have chains so you cannot pick your own veg but noticed today not all. Everybody wore a mask that I saw and police were patrolling. Up at playaflamenco when I went for flowers one man had his mask below his nose and a policeman shouted Mask, nose, now!!
