Interesting but totally different to a virulent virus.

This virus won't be going anywhere as long as people ignore the rules! I am sick to death of seeing people not wearing masks, not sanitising hands, smoking when walking out ( so they don't have to wear a mask presumably)
Why oh why are they so ignorant!
It's all so very frustrating especially when some of us do everything by the book :(

In response to the people not hand sanitising in shops, don’t be so critical please. I was staying in Spain last November and every shop I went into, I felt obliged to sanitise my hands. After about a half hour, my hands were so dried up and any more sanitiser would have left them in a real wrinkly and dry state. I started to wear surgical gloves when going out to shop and if you put sanitiser onto them, it ruins them snd they become plastic like. Is it any wonder that people are having problems with the skin on their hands?
Some shops provide ghastly stuff and probably unsuited to human hands. Other people use their own personal sanitiser and keep in in the handbag/ pocket. Don’t assume that all people aren’t making an effort because most people are.

That’s not true there have been deaths but far less for two reasons
More people have been vaccinated against flu than the average year
Secondly, the Covid precautions such as social distancing, hand sanitising, mask wearing, lockdowns etc have all reduced the incidence of influenza
It’s been fairly well documented

I checked USA and UK for deaths for all reasons last year
Both have few flu deaths for the reasons given
This question has been asked many times and the valid reasons have been given so I’m suprised you haven’t come across it
I’m not going to the extent of posting figures here but I’m sure you could hunt them if you wish

Dr Hillary on GMB stated the same last week, social distancing lowers infection rate.

If the vaccine fails the only option left is wait for general population immunity which will take several years. Economically no country can continue with lockdowns much beyond early spring.... all a complete mess!
