Bankia non resident declaration

Hi all just sent my non resident declaration to Bankia which has to be done every 2 years they have now informed me that due to money laundering laws I now have to show them my P60 Pension earnings and pay slips has anybody else encountered this recently ?? Many thanks

It sounds like some kind of scam email unless it has something to do with being a non-EU citizen which I presume you now are. The bank just returns these forms every 2 years to Revenue and charges your a/c the admin fee.

Can you obtain that proof yourself ?
The bank charges a lot of money when they do it…
And if so: how please?

We are resident in Spain and I had to visit the bank and do the same thing. It is because of money laundering laws and it is possible that your account can be frozen if you can't prove where your money is coming from. I also think that Bankia are using it to update all customer details prior to the merger with Caixa. Hopefully that will go smoother than the last merger.

Yes all Banks seem do this, and yes money laundering seems to be main reason. We are with La caxia and have been asked to prove income, believe this came in about 4 years ago..

why not contact the bank to find out instead of asking on here for and getting answers (which may be wrong)on such an important issue
