current travel regulations in valencia region.

Postby nigelandkath » Fri Mar 05, 2021 8:51 pm

We are going to have to get away from our home for 48 hours whist some work is done. I was wondering if we can book a hotel room somewhere for an overnight stay. Could we for instance drive and stay in Alicante or benidorm or are we restricted to local hotels which on a whole are a bit pants here in torrevieja, or can we not book anywhere at the moment. its taken an age to get to this point and I dont want to say no to the workmen coming. Thank you.

You can travel anywhere you like in the Valencia Region. There are no inner perimeter restrictions but you can't leave the Valencia Region so Alicante, Valencia and Castellon provinces are all open to you.

Of course, you still have the bar/restaurant closing times of 1800, the curfew of 2200 to 0600 and so on.

Aren't hotel bars and dining rooms exempt from 6.00pm closing where their residents are concerned as long as it is not in an area accessible to the general public?

have no idea Bee. For just an overnighter we could stay in our room if the bars are closed.

The regulation says hotels are exempt as follows:

Those premises, establishments and activities that by virtue of their special characteristics provide a service that can be considered essential or non-substitutable are exempt from this measure:

Hotel and restaurant services for hotel establishments and tourist accommodation, for the exclusive use of the customers staying there.

A lady I met the other day said they had an overnighter in Alicante and the hotel restaurant bar was for residents only but the general public did come in and we're served.

La Laguna is really good, there is a lovely inner court yard over looking the pool, a lovely place to read a book, have a coffee etc.
