Hi I am a resident in Spain and own a property that is in my name. My wife lives mainly in England. She has an NIE number but is not on the padron. Can she come to Spain to OUR property under current restrictions maybe Marclif will know this

Have a check on your Escritura. Our property is in my name but is does say in it who I am married to.
That should help.

Hi yes I saw that but if the English travel restrictions don't change this could be seen as a holiday and wot be allowed?

She will need to prove to the English that she has a valid reason to travel??

Saw this link on torrevieja.org.uk site. I am sure she can satisfy one of these permissions for travel.

Doubtful that the Johnson clause applies.



The extract from the Guardian referred to.

"The exemption allows people to travel abroad “in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property”. Those activities include visiting an estate agent, developer sales office or show home, viewing residential properties to rent or buy, and preparing a property for moving in."

Best to have documentary proof you are married and to establish that your own travel is permitted.
