Yep they are all coming to Spain on holiday. Just watch the Balearic islands rates take off.

I'm sure bozo has a master plan, based on capitalism and greed. Maybe Angela should get a few tips from him, but then maybe not as the number of COVID deaths, she has presided over, is half of that of the UK.

Germany may have had fewer deaths from Covid in the past and I am sure nothing to do with Merkel. However, Both Germany and France are now experiencing a fourth wave and the UK is not. So for once, Boris is doing something right - just wish he would close our borders to Europe and anyone coming in for the next month, including gimmegrants then we would see an even better improvement.

He should have closed the borders in the spring of last year. As an island UK could have been a lot safer and thousands of lives could have been saved.

OK to keep this completely off the point of the post "....Easter lockdown in Germany... " (and what should or needs to be done now)

Perhaps the biggest failure of the UK government last year was to allow/encourage NHS hospitals to discharge elderly patients back to care homes and also allow care home staff to work in several care homes going frequently between them (carrying infection?).

Of course, no criticism of any NHS hospital or care home management/staff should be implied or even hinted at.
It was all so easy and obvious (with perfect hindsight)

Spain is going to be the dumping ground for europeans looking to get away from europes ever increasing lockdown rules. Having just listened to Emanuel Macrons speech confirming greater lockdown rules in France from this weekend and I do believe other countries have to follow to get their rates down Spain is becoming an ever increasingly popular option/location to spend the easter break. France's new lockdown is only the opening salvo. Germany already has 500 full flights travelling to the Balearics for easter so that's about 80,000 holidaymakers dropping in from a country with increasing virus rates. That with Spain's slow roll out of vaccinations this is just a recipe for disaster. Tests mean very little except to show at the point the test is taken they are apparently Covid free, what about the time following the test, travellers could easily carry the virus here. We already have enough of our own problems with rising rates in some autonomous regions we certainly don't need another Christmas debacle this coming Easter and Spring. Come on Spain get your act together for goodness sake.
