Yes I understand that but some people tell me if u own a house and need to check it or do some maintenance on it uk will allow u to go on the 17th May with breaking the law and not getting fined.

If a couple, would they allow both people to travel to check a property! Surely they’d say it only takes one person to check something?

There is another thread on this. This legislation was voted through on 25th March last.

I think it's acceptable if you are the prime ministers father.

According to Corona Virus Spain, Adrian said yesterday that Spain is still only allowing British with residency, citizens, ect .
Do Merrymaids not look after your property anymore ?

No, I’m afraid you can’t go to Spain to check your apartment/villa at the moment. We saw that on the Gov.uk website and flew to Spain. We actually live there, (we don’t have a house in the UK and are currently staying with relatives) but we haven’t got Residence yet, but we have plenty of proof that we live there, plus our dog is in kennels there since we came back to the UK before Christmas.
We arrived at Alicante airport and the border police said our paperwork was wrong because we didn’t have Residence and we were escorted back on to the plane and deported. There were 8 of us passengers with the same documents, believing we could return with our Padron and Title Deeds/Rental Agreements.
The outcome was that the British Government say you can go to Spain for the reasons you mentioned, but Spain won’t let you in. The Border Police even told us there was a mistake on the Gov.uk website.
Our awayday to Alicante Airport cost us £1,000 with Covid PCR tests, taxi fares to and from the airport, flights, luggage, and finally 10 days quarantine when we returned on the same day And covid tests in days 2 and 8 of quarantine costing us £220 each!
But I can’t tell you the cost to our mental health of arriving in Alicante only to be treated like criminals and being sent back to the UK.
Don’t risk it, wait until they open the borders to tourists, because that’s what Spain thinks you are!
