Updated Travel Requirements to Spain from UK from July 1st

According to the Independant a tweet from Arancha Gonzalez Laya Spain,s foreign affairs minister it starts tomorrow 29 June

As put on the other thread, it will come into force from Thursday 1st July as per the statement from the Prime Minister. This is to allow travel agents and travel companies to get the systems in place.

People from Northern Ireland cannot get a vaccination certificate until August. The only way to gain entry into Spain is to have a Covid test . I’ve never encountered so many rules and regulations and changes which are making travelling extremely difficult. My gut feeling is that it may yet get worse or impossible.

I agree, it’s very difficult to keep up to speed with what’s required where and when and by whom. I can’t imagine what it must be like to turn up at the airport and not be allowed to board because you haven’t got or done the right thing

It’s a fast moving and fast evolving virus which will, inevitably, create changes, amendments, relaxation and reintroduction of the rules, the end of which is not known.

The most recent variant came from Asia because of the slow rollout of vaccines there. And it is there, or Southern Asia, Africa and South America, where future variants will evolve. The only way to, effectively, stop the spread is to close all travel routes but, that is not acceptable for trade and the supply of food.

We’ve lived for fifteen months with this pandemic it’s effects and Governments responses. It’ll certainly govern our lives for another six to nine months at least. And if you’ve that reality firmly stuck in your mind, you’ll not become disappointed by the deprivations of travel in the short term

What's needed on the road border - France - Spain?

Will need negative PCR for Eurotunnel, is it needed again at the Spanish border if just transiting France?

You will need a vaccination certificate, a negative covid test (antigen tests are accepted) certificate or a recovery certificate if entering Spain from France by any means including road.

This applies to all transit passengers and, as you have come from UK, the antigen may not be accepted as you have been in UK in the last 14 days.
