Is there much Covid in this area?

On the news yesterday it was reported that Murcia ha 300+ cases of the African variant and one death. Most of these new cases had been vaccinated twice some had even had the booster jab.

But the one death was not from Omicron variant and the WHO has stated that, although the variant has been found in 38 countries, there has not been one death reported from that particular strain.

Torrevieja has entered the high risk zone with 321 cases per 100,000 and Benidorm with 647 per 100,000 is on the extreme risk list.

Alicante province in general is 212 cases per 100,000.

Wonder how many of the 300 are in a serious condition or just slight symptoms

This is why U.K. appears to have high cases numbers - high testing will always find more cases & a lot of U.K. cases are kids with zero symptoms

I would also question the 300 cases in Murcia being the omicron variant as there has only been 7 confirmed cases in the whole of Spain as of yesterday.

The only regions reporting it are Madrid, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.

The report didn’t mention Omicron. Only Delta.
