Arriving into Alicante airport

Arriving into Alicante airport

Postby Mac3blade » Tue May 17, 2022 9:28 am

Our Ryanair flight from Stansted was delayed, a problem with crew apparently. Departed an hour late. Arrived at Alicante and passport control were doing their job so no wasting time at the automatic areas. So far, all good. Got through the doors leading into the baggage claim area. Couldn’t believe that people were asked to go through the Locator or covid passport areas. This us where everything came unstuck. My iPhone had died. I could find anything that they’d accept in my iPad. My husband produced his certificate which was dated July 2022…. Not acceptable. Now 12.30am. Escorted to Covid testing area at the far end of the floor. Both tested by a lovely young lady. Waited 10/15 minutes outside the door. Passports returned and we were off. We were due to arrive at 11.20 so we were texting Kersten Engels car parking with updates. Finally, came out to the front of the airport and our car was sitting waiting for us.. now 12.55am. The young driver was charming, we apologised but he wasn’t concerned at all. Into the car, off down the road and headed to Torrevieja. No traffic so a lovely drive. Our house was ready and prepared for our arrival. Lamp illuminating in the lounge, furniture set out, plants looking wonderful. Pretty much straight to bed after I’d had a quick look at the solarium which I love.
Everything in order now.

Anyone travelling over please make sure you have updated all boosters. Vital for entry.
So happy to be here.

We flew into Alicante at 10 pm on Saturday evening but unfortunately there was 3 planes landed one after the other so hundres of people all going through Passport Control together. No automatic passport readers so everyone going to passport control. He checked our passports and TIE . They were randomly checking Covid passport but I waved my printed paper and they just waved us through. Took over an hour from getting off the plane to exit doors. We always have printed everything. So much easier if the phone dies.
Happy in the sun.

Our Covid passport doesn't have a new date only date of last vaccine. Is it because your last vaccine was more than 270 days?

What’s a Covid passport? Do you mean a EU digital Covid certificate or equivalent?
