Warning to N26 account holders, I just received the first ever charge from this (German) bank for having a swift money transfer paid in. (Seems they don’t need to notify their customers of any new fees they’re about to take..)
From trawling through their T&Cs, anything over €150 attracts a charge of €12.50 + 0.1% on the amount.

That's bad news. Are incoming payments via Wise affected by this? We use Wise to transfer funds from our UK sterling account to our N26 euro account. The transfer takes seconds and we've never been charged.

Sorry I don’t know about Wise, my credit was from Moneycorp - hopefully Wise use a different method.

Monetcorp must have sent it over from UK IBAN number give them a phone let them know what happened.
Tell them you want any future transfer from them to go through a European IBAN number

Just checked Wise account.
To transfer funds from Euro to sterling you get the option of a "fast transfer" at 9.20 Euro or "low cost transfer" at 5.14 Euro. (1000 Euro at guaranteed rate)
To transfer funds from Sterling to Euro you get the option of a "fast transfer" at £7.26 or "low cost transfer" at £4.28 (£1000 at guaranteed rate)
I've never had extra money charged by N26 using Wise. However, some Spanish banks now charge for funds sent directly from a UK account.

Thanks both for your info. This is the first time it’s happened, I usually get one transfer a month from Moneycorp & one via Wise, no problems until today…!

I transferred money from Wise to Sabadell yesterday. 28p charge. No charge from Sabadell on receipt.

Thanks wilbhoy67, I think Wise route the money through Belgium so there’s no problem. It’s only UK…
