Beware aldi by consum

Hi, just did my shop as usual at Aldi bill came to 14.o9 handed the girl 50 euros and 9 cents(she had been very busy talking to the other till girl through our wait) she then picked up the till and her and another girl went into the office we looked at each other and said could she not have completed the transaction first, she then came back and gave me a euro I said no it wasv50 she said no it was 20 so I said we'll why1 euro...long story short went back into the office where she said she had vounted the money and I had not given her 50 then offered me €4 still mot change of even 20 we looked at the cameras but you can't see clearly you can see I had a brown note and not blue but they said I could have changed it....suggestion hold your money up so camera can clearly see it.

I had similar in Mercadona years ago, they said to go back in the morning after they'd counted it, guess what they said it was a 20 not a fifty, I was annoyed for yonks as I knew it was a fifty. Id rather have a purse full of twenties rather than 50s for this reason but the bank always gives out 50s although I noticed the other week you can enter 20s only. I mainly use a card now.

Think I will be doing that from now on!

Had the same thing happen to me in Lidl. Gave me the change for 10 Euros after I sorted out the odd coins. Went to the back office with the duty manager and cashier. They counted the money, spoke in Spanish for a while. Counted it another 2 times, then said it was right. I asked to see the CCTV footage and they said it could only be viewed if requested by the police. Didn’t pursue it, just give them a wide berth now.

Have to say Aldi head office have been very prompt in replies they have taken all the details and are dealing with it ,just don't want it to happen to others
