Covid fine

I well remember 2 incidents reported in the press.
First one was very early in Lockdown a Dutch couple stopped at the Montesinos roundabout were asked where they were going and had no reason for being out (I think it was a Sunday morning). So issued with a fine.
Second one was very bizarre it wasn't the incident that was reported but the follow up.
The paper reported the case of a man (not in our area) that had been stopped outside his supermarket and he had only bought orange juice and I think the other item was chocolate. So the police said they were non essentials and he was fined.
The report was of the case being overturned in the courts but what a palaver to go through something I certainly wouldn't have wanted.

Covid fines were just made up nonsense and there's no way they should be enforceable, who decides what is an essential item except for the individual, what is essential for one person might not be essential to the next person
