if you can now pay at the barrier it has only recently been introduced. Another post has commented on this.

A euro a minute after the free 10 mins! Cheaper to park in the car park if any longer.

It has always been there but only at the one barrier presumably to speed up exit from the set down area.

Also I was told put your ticket in the pay machine just before your 10 mins are up and you then have another 10mins to exit after that. Should say not sure how that one works as I haven't tried it. That tip came from the car hire people as I hate being rushed out the barrier before I have adjusted the seat and located the light switches etc.

Bee is absolutely correct. Many years ago we hired a car but told to collect the child seat inside the airport. Such a hassle. Got the seat and had great difficulty attaching it do overran our time and gad to reverse back Somebody told us where the pay machine was and we paid the appropriate amount and exited. I still remember clearly, bought our own car seat after that episode.
