amazon fire stick

I bought an amazon fire stick which has now been loaded with various apps. For a couple of weeks this ran perfectly and I used smarters as the app to get live TV. Now every single channel shows an error message "playback error". I have done various troubleshooting things - checked internet and speed - no problem. Tested youtube and this works perfectly. Tried my firestick in other people's TVs and works perfectly. Switched off and switched on again - no success. Any other ideas as to what can be wrong?

Unless bringing their tv to your house using someone else's necessarily means using their Internet too so there is your common factor.

Have you tried actually disconnecting both tv and firestick from the mains for at least 30 seconds. Also make sure your cache is cleared on the firestick. Also buy the LAN/Power connection for the firestick.

I’m not familiar the app but have you got a trial subscription and which you now need to purchase an activation code?
Have you tried changing the address on your VPN?

Lizzy. When using the Firestick in your own home you will be using your own WiFi and Internet service. Take it elsewhere though and it will be using the WiFi/internet there so if it works say at a friend or neighbours house then it can only mean that the problem is with your WiFi/internet at home.

I suspect the problem could be throttling by your provider, slowing the service in other words. Who are you with and have you spoken to them about the problem.
