Still looking for a nice pork pie. Nobody seems to make a really decent good sized pie. Baldwins about best so far but lacking gelatine which he is trying to find one that does not go off quickly. Have tried Essex butchers and Chop Shop, Melton Mowbery are best.

Gelatine in pork pies is usualy rendered down pork skin, so should be easy to make your own as you can buy pigs feet & ears in good butchers or even mercadona sometimes

Long way to go as Melton Mowbray pork pies can only be made in Melton Mowbray.
Tesco did Melton Mowbray pies but have now gone over to Co-op ones which are very expensive. Reeves butchers near San Luis has nice big ones and you can just have a half of one if you want. Not much jelly in them, though which could be a plus for some.
