We just wondered if the local posts office are working we haven’t had any mail or seen them on there rounds.

We’re expecting mail or are they in dispute. ?

We've had mail, and I've seen them around on their yellow scooters.

The postmen/women are privately contracted. Sometimes, if they go on holiday, nobody steps in.
We have had post though.
