Exterior paint that wipes clean?
Exterior paint that wipes clean?
by Steve wilkins » Tue Jun 06, 2023 11:30 am
I have seen various properties painted with what looks like a 'non stick' paint. It seems that this paint is immune to being stained by the dirty rain or other contaminates. Can anyone tell me what it's called and where to get it? Or it it more a case of these buildings have been painted with regular white matt and then sealed after with a coat of something else?
Any insight appreciated.

Go to Quesada Colors, as far as I’m aware it’s the normal white exterior paint. The paint he sold to us has those properties.

Hi I have painted our community pool a few times.
Drive to Formentera from the big roundabout Rolajes after 800 meter on the rightside there is a big paint shop.
All the painters go there it is very cheap.
My advise also get a big bucket of primer first put this on the walls
You can also get special pool paint with extra coating.
Aks the owner he will help you
Cheers

Advocate of Keim Paints - mineral paints Made in Germany
KEIM ECOPAINT IBÉRICA S.L.

Expensive but longer lasting!
According to their web-site:
"KEIM silicate paints have a purely mineral base and are made from natural raw materials.Together with lime paints, they form the family of mineral paints.Silicate paints contain potassium silicate as a binder, which forms a permanent and insoluble bond with mineral supports such as stone, plaster and concrete. The result is extremely durable and much more resistant than the mere superficial adherence of conventional paints on the market. Therefore, our facade paints remain unchanged for decades with full color stability, as they only contain high-quality UV-resistant pigments. The risk of the paint chipping is eliminated if it is used correctly. Therefore, a KEIM facade paint is, over time,Cheaper than conventional paint. Thanks to their chemical composition, mineral paints are also much less susceptible to dirt, algae and fungus, even if no biocides are added."

I bought a pricey one from Merlins in the end which promises the world so will see how i get on with that. I was there and it was a bit of a impulse buy so we'll see if its any good in due course. Thanks for the comments which i will explore as and when.
