Fixing a Ceiling Light/Fan

Anyone know if ceiling light/fans can be repaired. Inherited with the house a fan that is making a very irritating ticking noise. I have tried balancing but it actually runs quite smoothly just ticks!!
Any suggestions welcome.

Strip it down and clean it. Then WD 40 or any silicon based lubricant sprayed on the motor drive shaft, lightly, let it dry for 2-3 days, should be as good as new.

Buy a new one fully installed under 100 euros most lighting stores advertise them
