Tilt and Turn Window

We have a tilt and turn window in our bathroom. I only discovered it today as I cleaned away some builders debris, I had thought it was only a casement window.

However, I think there is something missing from the mechanism, as I have to manually slide a section on the top of the window, to engage a peg on the upper hinge, when changing from tilt to casement.

Can anyone suggest a solution before I remove it and take it to a carpentero?

The section that I slide, marked with the blue arrow, slides very easily back and forth, so I suspect there is a missing spring mechanism.

Hi does it move when you turn the handle ? if not then you will need a new corner mechanism. If there is a name on it then easy to find on the net. Crocodile teeth engage the mechanism on both ends . Hope this helps .....Paul

Thank you all for your help, I am looking to fix it myself because I love little challenges. If I get stuck, there are lots of places near where I live, in central Torrevieja, that I can take it to to get fixed.

I have just looked at mine and you can not shift that piece manually suggest you go see a window man
