Yesterday’s rain

Yesterday’s rain

Postby Mac3blade » Wed Jun 14, 2023 8:29 am

Travelled from Alicante to Torrevieja. Stopped to pick up some things from Iceland in La Marina. Came out of the shop to be attacked by a deluge of torrential rain. Dried myself off and we drove along flooded roads at a crawling pace. As we got closer to Guardamar, the rain had eased and soon after the roads seemed to be bone dry. Continued on and arrived here to glorious sunshine and the great good fortune that the washing on the solarium clothesline was bone dry !! What a joy. I’d expected it to be drenched but it wasn’t. I took the lounger cushions and stored them away. Went back downstairs and brought mist if the outdoor cushions in just incase the rain did arrive. By 8.30pm it was lashing but I was happy as everything had been stored and out of its way.
Looking out the window now, the sky is blue and the sun is shiny so all is well. Hallelujah.

Darn it! You just reminded me. The rain was forecast but didn't get here until later.
I brought the cushions in from the patio, the upstairs balcony and covered the outside dining table.
Took the hanging baskets down and put them where they'd get some rain.

Then down it came and was very much appreciated.
Except your post suddenly reminded me I'd left the cushions out on the chairs out the back, Normally put away in the storage shed but I'd totally forgot about them.

Looks like I'll be shopping for some new chair cushions.

It is very strange weather this year on the Costa Blanca with all the rain. Not that it isn't welcome. Except if you are a tourist of course.

Maybe you could arrange to have them on free air tickets from La Pedrera reservoir whenever it's running low :)
