Obtaining empadronamiento (Living in Algorfa)
Obtaining empadronamiento (Living in Algorfa)
by Expat in Quesada » Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:09 pm
Hi All,
Any hand holding with this is most welcome. I have looked online and found some info. However, I cant find anything specific to Algorfa. I found all the docs telling me what I need to bring along but cant find how to make an appointment.
Anyone know how to go about making/getting an appointment in the Ayuntamento in Algorfa?
Cheers.
John.

Thanks Marcliff. I will give them a call as the options on the link want me to register and I only have the hire car for the next couple of days and was hoping to get it done while I have transport.
Cheers.

My mobile wont ring the 010 number. (EU roaming.) Lol.
I will have a spin over in the car tomorrow and see if I can make an appointment.

I don't know about Algorfa but it's quite a small place. If you turn up at Rojales to make an appointment they generally see you there and then. Just the big places like Torrevieja where they insist on appointments.
However, are you just here on holiday? You say you have a hire car for a few days and a UK phone and won't be here much longer If you are not a permanent resident then you shouldn't be on the padron as you are stating that this is your permanent home. Some councils still allow you to do so as a non resident but they shouldn't and it could cause problems down the line with the tax people.

Hi Marcliff,
Thanks for the additional info. We bought a house in Lo Crispin and are here permanently. We are looking to buy a car at the moment and to date have hired two cars to drive around to garages and look at various models. None of the garages got back to us which was disappointing. This is our third hire car and we were hoping to replenish our heavy shopping, get the Padron sorted and also have another look in the garages. I found another telephone number for the Algorfa Ayuntamento but after 15 minutes on hold I gave up. Perhaps its worth just turning up with all the paperwork and if they can sort it for us there and then, it would be a bonus. I suppose either way, we want to get an appointment to get the cl@ve sorted as well so hopefully they can book that appointment while we are there. We are on contract with our EU phone provider so will need to keep our non Spanish mobile numbers until the contract is up.
Cheers.
John.

Hi Jeckybo,
We popped along to the town hall and Jose looked after us. He speaks perfect English so it made asking questions a lot easier. The lady across from his desk copied all the paperwork and the Padron should be ready to collect this Friday.
Many thanks.
