Digital Certificate

I've been going through old posts but couldn't find the answer.
If u have downloaded ur Digital Certificate on a pc but the pc is not working any longer, how can u access ur degital certificate? Can u upload it again on a new pc or device or do u need to apply for it again?

Think it’s specific to one device but not absolutely certain.

You can copy it onto a memory stick and then transfer it to another PC. I had to do it I brought a new PC

Exactly, it's a .p12 file which is platform independent so can be copied or emailed as an attachment and installed on as many different devices as you like, PC, Android, Crapple etc. erc.

If your PC has died you should be able to remove the hard drive and connect it to another machine then search for *.p12, probably 10x quicker and less hassle than getting a new certificate.

Should have saved the certificate to desk top then copied it like I did

Some good tips here. Mine is saved to my dropbox rather than only to my laptop hard drive - along with everything else I wouldn't want to lose. I've also just emailed it to myself, which is another way of always being able to access anything important.

Ian, I’m quite happy to fess up to being fairly dim when it comes to tech stuff like this. The OP was asking what they ‘could’ do to get round the problem, didn’t think it was particularly helpful for them being told what they should’ve done. Just sounded a little smug IMHO.
