You can still park in the Port but only on the right-hand side where all the leisure boats are moored. The walk is a bit longer back out to the main promenade - Paseo Juan Aparicio. If you are used to the Port then stick with that.

You’ll be pleased to know, although the large carpark next to the Marina behind the wooden huts market, where the fair used to be has now been permanently closed, if you continue driving towards the marina walkway to where the wooden huts start by the promenade you can still park, if you drive to the right of the marina walkway, through the pedestrian traffic lights with the promenade on your left and the huts on your right, and follow that road, there is a lot of parking opposite the entrance to the Submarine exhibition. It’s cheap but it’s in full sun most of the day. They are building a new up market housing complex on what was the car park.

A new leisure front and 650 underground parking spaces! Should be fantastic!

Also the fair will return, and all the dusty 'dog toilet' gone

I also heard rumours of a fish market but...?

Many municipalities are delaying the introduction of the LEZs. Of 149 cities who should have implemented them, only 14 have done so.

The new Valencian government of PP and Vox are actively delaying their introduction. Indeed, Elche, Valladolid, Palma and Gijon (councils which have turned to the right) have eliminated cycle lanes to give more room for cars. Many council areas have requested a moratorium on the introduction of the LEZs and Cartagena has already announced they will not be bringing them in though that was stated before the recent elections. Gijon, Lorca (Murcia), Valladolid, Castellon and others have stated they will allow those cars with no sticker to enter the towns in order to park.

Elche said it would not start these areas up but has stated it will comply with the law. Valladolid has claimed to be a car friendly city and will not go ahead with any changes unless faced with sanctions by the EU.

Many other municipalities are simply delaying their introduction.

Thanks for all that info - do you know if currently (we are coming back beginning of November) Santander, outskirts of Madrid just off the motorways, Torrevieja, Elche and Murcia require stickers? And do we have to get one for each town/city and how long do they last for - is it just a year?

As has been pointed out on several other threads you've started or asked on, the system is not yet known and you can't get a sticker for a UK reg car. If the system in Barcelona is taken up by other cities, you would need to register your car for each day you are going through the LEZ areas.

Get a French crit'air sticker as they are valid in Spain.
