Well Volcano I've got a lump in my throat and a couple of tear drops on my cheeks what a wonderful post!! That said there's always going to be trolls/keyboard warriors but thank God not to many. When we had the Gota Fria in 2019 we lost everything I put a photo on the forum showing our bathroom completely submerged the offers of help from the forum was unbelievable and Chrisdee had a word with David at the charity Reach out for the homeless really helped us with some furniture and other bits and bobs and let us have it really cheap and we'll never forget the kindness xx

Hi volcano, it is interesting to hear how people chose their names. Mine comes from my love of astronomy and coincidentally mount Tiede is a great place to visit at night for a fantastic view of the stars.

I bought my wife a mega telescope for her birthday a few years ago, it’s in the villa, it is a bit of a beast and has great lenses, if I can post a pic of it I will, we bought a book and it said a few km inland from Quesada is a great place to view the stars, the salt lakes help keep the atmosphere dry and clear. Do you have a telescope and if so where do you go…
