PC/laptop hardware components

PC/laptop hardware components

Postby Steve wilkins » Wed Jul 12, 2023 1:06 pm

I need to replace some parts on my laptop, specifically the usb ports. Does anyone know where i may be able to buy these components?

I should be able to replace them my self, but i would also welcome electronic engineer recommendations who are used to this sort of work.

Many thanks.

You can buy parts on Ebay.es and if you can solder then you should be able to do the job yourself but make sure you use the correct materials
Could be better to have the job done in a workshop you may be surprised at how cheap it can be

Speak to Ritchie at Quesada Tech. He will help you.
If you want to do it yourself look at pccomponentes.es. I get hardware from them.

You may find the bits you want are not standard 'off the shelf' items, personally I'd be looking on Aliexpress.

Don't underestimate the skill level required to perform such surgery!

I have had a look on ebay already but i can never seem to find what i'm looking for. It always comes up with USB adaptors or multi-ports and never what i'm looking for. It may be cheaper at a workshop if i knew where to take it. Buying all the solder gear may work out more expensive, i don;t know without any quotes.

I tried that website and can't get it to load. I have tried 3 different browsers. The first one said i was banned straight off the bat, the second did a verification check which never ended, and the third loaded the page and then went blank

I realise they're a specific item. Don't worry, i am capable of doing the work myself. Although as i said to jpeg, it may be cheaper and less hassle to pay someone to do it.

Just got to source some competent companies now.

The computer shop at Dona Pepa, I think it's called O D will definitely do this. They rebuilt a laptop for me that everyone else said could not be done and have done various other fiddly jobs for me. Reasonable price and solid advice.

The browser does recognise it as that address anyway, but i'm still having trouble looking at it. I managed to load it on my phone, but unfortunately, they only seem to sell peripherals, and not the actual electronic components i am seeking. Thanks anyway though. It may come in handy another day.
