Good morning

Being a legal firm as you can appreciate we are always conscious to comply with the law

The hourly rate minimum wage in Spain is I understand 8.45€ per hour

This is why we are offering 8.50€ per hour for 2 hours a day - 5 days a week - so 85€ in total

Because we are a British firm registered at companies house in the UK we also can pay in Sterling amount of which will fluctuate weekly based on the rate

Currently the exchange on that comes in around £71

This is not cash in hand

A factura will be required each week

Autonimo is a pre requisite if working in Spain

Or if invoicing a UK company in Sterling this is not required if resident

I hope this clarifies matters for everyone

Kind regards

Paul

Unless the candidate has another job , this weekly wage would not cover the autonomo monthly payments and accountant fees. The Spanish tax system here for both the employee ( autonomo) and employer ( contract) is shocking.
Happy in the sun.

Yes it’s really harsh as around 300€ a month after the first discounted period!

We are thinking someone who is already Autonimo might value having an extra couple of hours a day which itself would cover their monthly Autonimo payments for their other job(s)

Alternatively of course if they prefer they can invoice our UK parent company and be paid into a UK account in Sterling

Kind regards

We live in Spain and my wife does the administration for my UK company, she gets paid into her UK account, as do I.
We file our accounts here in Spain as Spanish tax residents, and pay the tax. No need at all to be on the autonomo.
Seems a decent wage €8.50 an hour for Spain.

You are fully & legally correct. I was going to write the exact same thing but you beat me to it, what I think British people writing on this subject on this forum will think is, it is quite normal in Britain to pay minimum wage for unskilled jobs, but this tends to be for people working a 37.5+hour week, normally if someone is working part time say 18.5 hours, minimum pay is increased to take into account travelling to from work time and transport costs, someone working 2 jobs each 18.5 hours has double the travelling time and double the transport costs. In the UK it would be expected that a person getting 10 hours work would see an uplift of 30% in the hourly rate, 10% if 20 hours 3% if 30 hours. So to see an advert for 10 hours at €8.50 an hour looks really mean.
Where in fact it would look a lot better if it was €8.45 per hour (minimum pay) uplifted to €11.00 per hour (stating part time of 10 hours gives an uplift of 30% due to the limitations of earning capacity) this would serve to make you look caring and compassionate. At the moment your advert looks cold, mean and immoral. I’m not saying it is, I’m saying it looks that way, that’s why people are calling you out. We are in the middle of a financial crisis worldwide.
The difference between €84.50 and €110.00 is €25.50hardly a sum to break the bank.

Everyone

This is not a contracted position

It’s part time - just 2 hours an afternoon

We are flexible could be 4 or 5 days

As such there is no holiday pay or sick pay

We are looking for someone who lives locally in quesada so no significant travelling will be involved

If someone has a couple of hours spare for a little extra pin money that is great - this role would not and is not one that can provide anyone with a main income - they would either use this as an extra income to an existing one or just to get out of the house for a couple of hours if retired maybe.

Thanks to the 5 people who have expressed interest so far

Debbie will contact you this week and will meet you for a coffee and a chat and take it from there

Kind regards

Paul
