Renewing driving licence when turning 70

Anyone know what is required to renew driving licence when turning 70
I think I read somewhere that a Medical Center would do all the paperwork etc, i.e La Siesta center
and how long can you apply before turning 70 years old ? Please

Clinica La Siesta is a 'one-stop shop' for the whole process which takes about 20 minutes. The cost is €60. You can do it up to three months before the expiry date. They speak English and you can communicate via the WhatsApp number on Chrisdee's post to make an appointment if you prefer.

There is no law in Spain which requires you to renew your licence at age 70, it is valid until its expiry date and it's then you renew.

Correct. Many people drive oblivious to the expiry date believing it to be their 70th birthday, but like a passport it has an expiry date. Mine next expires when I'm 68, but for a lot of people it does default to their 70th birthday in practice.

Yes correct my wife´s license was issued in 2015 but expires on her 70th 2023.

La Siesta will do medical and apply for new licence for about 40 euros. No timetable to apply but it can take some time so better just go!

I don't know the break point but for certain there is an element of the age at which the licence was issued at play.

Both my wife's and mine were issued before we were 70, 4 and 3 years resp. but we both have 5 year durations which reinforces my previous statement that there is no default renewal at age 70.
