Scandia Holiday Centre

Scandia Holiday Centre

Postby Marty4 » Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:16 pm

Hi All,

Currently on the hunt for a holiday home and have some properties to view when we fly over in the next few weeks. One property is in Scandia. Does anyone live or stayed here before?

As it's more like a holiday park I was wondering what the area is like?

Thanks

Have you researched it? Had a quick look, looks like lots of rentals ?? If so, you wouldnty really want to live there I wouldn't have thought.

Hi there,

It's just as a holiday home initially. When the time comes to retire we would probably look elsewhere for a permanent home.

I'm just curious about this little area. I'm over on 18th August so I will get a feel for it, however, I was just wondering if anyone on the forum had any experience here.

Thanks

Martin

Hi, my friends rented there a couple of months ago, nice little attached bungalows, they are small but well equipped, nice tidy gardens, nice pool, gated to the properties, close to bars and restaurants and doctors.

The community is next to Coopers Bar, if anyone has sat in the outdoor terrace watching the gates next door opening and closing that’s where it is.
So the small commercial centre has a couple of miscellaneous shops, a farmacia. Two bar restaurants and an Italian restaurant. .
Be aware of the huge taxes and fees involved when buying and selling in Spain. Better to get the property right first time rather than having to pay an additional 10k (or more) , by having to sell and repurchase.

Thank Graham,

We have identified all the separate fees/taxes around buying so set aside 14%. We're currently getting our ducks in a row and then we will engage an independent lawyer to act on our behalf.

Cheers
