We had a beetle in ours, we put a piece of foam in it. Works OK.

I put a piece of stocking/tights over it and tied some of that green gardening wire around it, worked great, been on for about 4 years and not rotted yet, still got a whole leg and 7/8ths of the other leg

Hi we had this problem recently and the sat engineer placed the plastic lid from a jar of gherkins from Mercadona over the land and used a bit of silicone he says it’s a common problem and this is how he fixes it
The lids are Alison on jars which are actually drinking glasses and contains French mustard !
Hope this helps
