SMOKING IS BACK FOLKS

Smoking may be a free choice but I'm not sure that it's return in spaces where there could very well be small children and food being consumed qualifies as any sort of cause for celebration.

Ultimately the right to breath clean air will always trump the right of anyone to pollute it!

Yes you can sit inside a bar/restaurant and although illegal, people still think it’s ok to vape and more often than not I’ve seen staff turn a blind eye. I like to sit outside on a terrace but hate having smoke and vape blown over me while eating. We should be able to choose where we want to enjoy a meal without being subjected to that, legal or not, it’s just common courtesy.

Yuck!!! The worst news possible!! Definitely a step backwards in my opinion!!
And I do avoid places that allow this as much as I can!! I don't want to inhale someone's second hand smoke!! Disgusting!!!!!!!

1 in 4 hospitality areas in the Alicante province will not allow smoking on the terraces. Over half, with the appropriate room, will have smoking areas but will keep non smoking areas on the terraces. Smoking areas will be specifically signed and have canvas sides along them.

Now, if only they would ban parents who allow their kds to run riot in bars and restaurants we could all be happy. And their crappy little dogs who, of course, they all pick up after (Hah!)

Of course, the nice aircon areas inside will still be smoke free and nobody bothers about sitting on the pavements with cars and trucks going past belching out more smoke and fumes than any smoker.

The tolerant and intolerant can now live happily ever after.
And maybe no more threads will be started on the same subject. But I doubt it.
