Driving job to Narbonne
Driving job to Narbonne
by TEAEFF » Fri Aug 25, 2023 2:34 pm
Hi everyone,
This is a long shot but if you don't enquire nothing will transpire.
Would anyone be interested in driving for a fee, me and my wife to Narbonne (south of France) it took me a day when I had a car.
We are both French speaking should a non English speaking person be interested, non smokers, no pets, and no luggage, and we would still like to be middle aged ha ha. The reason for all this is we are going to live with relatives in Narbonne and need a one way journey. Thanks.

Be careful how you proceed with this. Anyone taking payment for transporting passengers needs to be licensed to do so AND must have the correct (hire & reward) insurance! Additionally, both the driver and vehicle need to be licensed for this purpose.
If someone without the correct compliance takes you up on the offer and you were unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, their insurance would be void, regardless of the severity of any injury or loss you might suffer.

1,700km there and back maybe €300 in fuel so 2 full days driving going to be at least €300 to pay someone and then overnight accommodation and meal €100 even if a friend drove you wouldn’t it be easier to get a train to Barcelona then a bus to Perpignan then even a taxi.
It’s a long journey even for friend to drive you.
As I am your friend I would do it ???
There is an app called blah blah car it’s a car sharing service totally legal where people share the cost of car journeys maybe if someone is going there or near the border you share the fuel cost

Lots of people driving back around this time, hopefully somebody can help you out. We do it in about 8 hours using toll roads.

Thanks Paul, Steve, Jpeg, and Chrisdee for all your helpful advice. Blah Blah looks the way to go unless I win the Euro Millions and then I'll get a taxi.
