Patio Tile cleaner

Patio Tile cleaner

Postby Silverlocke29 » Wed Sep 20, 2023 10:39 am

Hi can anyone recommend a good patio tile cleaner for a large area on white/ light grey tiles. I’ve tried a solution of bleach but hasn’t done the trick.
Thank you

You can use Agua Fuerte but it needs to be diluted. It's sulfuric acid. Although not concentrated you do need to be careful and make sure you rinse it off after.

Had the same type stains and removed them with Cif cream.
Bit of elbow grease required with a scouring sponge (the soft ones with a bit of material over the top).

Don't use Agua fuerte as it will take the topping off the tile and leave a lighter mark which will get more affected later on. This will happen if you use a white vinegar mix as well.

I also tried that "Pink Stuff" but didn't work as well as Cif cream.

Not wishing to be a pedant but Aqua Fuerte is hydrochloric acid and it's cleaning action relies on the release of chlorine. Therefore it is important not to inhale the fumes especially in a confined area.

Agree with @rjc that it can eat away at the top of your tiles. The Spanish tend to use it on surfaces that won't be damaged.

If they are quality patio tiles,
They should be non slip therefore un glazed, and have a natural finnish, which shouldn't degrade,
Ask at Lo maribou ferritin they will advise on correct solution
