Bigger roundabouts?

During my travels today i have seen two roundabouts, the road of which, has been dug up around it as though they are intending to make them bigger. Purely out of curiosity, does anyone know if this is the reason or not?

Seems a strange move seeing that there was nothing wrong with them or the roads around them to begin with.

Just thought i'd ask.

They are reducing them to 1 Lane to reduce number of accidents and near misses, as some people do not follow the Spanish way using them, all nationalities..

It's the Spanish way of using them that causes all the accidents.

More room for the drivers to park when they visit the ladies

I suppose they will be making the two lanes that lead up to them one lane as well then?

If not, i foresee a lot of accidents and road rage (not to mention extra congestion) when the two lanes meet at the one lane roundabout. Something doesn't seem right here. Either they have a numpty in charge making all the decisions (probably) or something else is at work.

The ones I have seen all appear to be one lane approaching the roundabout so what was the issue??? Must be costing a fortune. Repair the motorway as it resembles a big dipper in some parts.

There are ones which have two lanes going into it. The one at vistabella golf for example. I completely agree about the cost and the motorway. You don't want to drive on it if you have a bad back that's for sure!

It's all well and good until someone breaks down on one and clogs the roundabout up (which i saw happen a few weeks ago) then congestion in all directions.
